Well to say the last 6 months have been a walk in the park is an understatement to say the least. I look at my life and say "what happened?"
Those of you who know me well, know that even when I am depressed I know that everything is there for a reason and is an opportunity to grow. Sometimes I ask myself, why do the lessons have to be so big, so loud, so hard? It would be nice if things were a bit easier as I am starting to feel my age these days. Yet deep down inside of me I know that it has been a series of events that has brought me to where I am today. Big milestone birthday, aging parents with many needs and issues, knee surgery, and I was catfished.
All within the past 6 months.
I need to find my center again, stop the roller coaster, the negative thoughts and find my desire and happiness again.
I think the events of the past 6 months has put everything in focus, loudly saying pay attention make changes or your lessons will continue to be yelling at you loud and boisterously. If I don't change through this awareness, more of the same lessons will be coming my way.
This morning I felt great, I did a meditation and then went to work. As the day progressed I could feel the heaviness of events piling back on me, feeling in a rut, feeling lost, overwhelmed and sad. I decided I had to embrace me and do something. I began by just moving. Yesterday in my coaching session my business coach, Hal Tweedy said just move, just take action.
I grabbed my iPod and got into my car and drove to a place where I could walk. I knew since I recently had surgery that maybe I could walk for 30 minutes tops. I also know the since it was beautiful fall day in New England I would probably have to stop numerous times and take iPhone photos. ( taking photos makes me feel better !)
I chose to listen to Mike Dooley's Infinite Possibilities, the art of living your dreams. He talks about thoughts becoming things.
I am in charge of my thoughts and feelings! I can stay in the depressed place I have been in and out of or I can do something about it.
Afterward the walk I decided to go for a cappuccino and sit outside at The Ovens of France. Then I started journaling, culminating with affirmations. I could feel my energy shifting, I know I have to change my thoughts and feelings daily and I will get me back.
I never would have taken this time off in the afternoon, where there is a limiting belief of something I thought I shouldn't do. YET because I did I am more focused and am getting a lot of work done. We need to feed our souls, today for me I did this through walking in nature, tapping into my creativity, journaling and indulging in a cappuccino. I went deep inside of my feelings, paying attention to that little girl inside that is hurt by events that are not in my control. My little girl is healing me.
Thank you Mike Dooley.
Thank you also for the morning quotes I get everyday from the universe.
