Saturday Jan 16th 10-4 $ 165 plus $15 model fee Revisiting The Classic Art of Hand Coloring Applying the traditional techniques of hand-coloring to contemporary digital photography. Before there was color film, there were hand-colored and hand-tinted daguerreotypes and tintypes. Some of these are priceless treasures today. Of course, now there are many modern ways to color digital photos using Photoshop, but the timeless joy of applying color by hand to the surface of a print is still unmatched by pushing pixels around. This workshop is a hands-on experience that combines a variety of field shooting assignments with studio sessions that explore numerous printing techniques, papers, and mediums such as pencils, oils, watercolors, acrylic and more. Exercises in composition, tonality, pre-visualization and color palette are followed by discussions about finishing, mounting and framing. She has taught photography for over 30 years to students of all ages and levels of expertise. Her work has appeared in many publications and private collections. Laurie has also exhibited her fine art internationally as well.
